Welcome to TERRELL SESSUMS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, HOME OF THE STALLIONS!

Thank you for choosing Sessums for the 2025-2026 school year. This year marks Sessums' 23rd year serving our community and my 14th year serving the families of Sessums Elementary. We are honored to partner with you in your child's educational journey. Sustaining excellence takes both families and schools working together. We look forward to a year of learning, growth, and success.

We are proud to celebrate that Sessums has once again earned a "B" school grade; marking our second consecutive year as a B-rated school. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our students, staff, and families.

There is a strong link between academic success and student attendance. We need your child at school every day because every day matters. Students are considered "chronically absent" when they miss more than 10% of the school year. Regular attendance helps students build strong academic skills, develop friendships, and stay connected to their learning community.

At Sessums, we are entering Year 3 of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. PBIS helps create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment by teaching and recognizing positive behaviors throughout the school day. Students earn PBIS points for demonstrating our school expectations and making responsible choices. Throughout the year, students will have opportunities to spend their points at our PBIS store and participate in exciting PBIS events and experiences, making positive behavior both fun and rewarding. We are committed to helping every Stallion grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Sessums Elementary is proud to be a Title I School. As a Title I school, we receive additional federal funding that helps provide resources and support to enhance student achievement and strengthen family engagement. These resources allow us to offer instructional support, family involvement opportunities, and additional tools to help every student succeed. We encourage families to stay involved and take advantage of the many opportunities available throughout the year.
