Principal's Message

Christian Finch, principal of Barrington Middle School

Welcome to Barrington Middle School—an A School of Excellence!

We’re glad you’re here, whether you are joining the Barrington family for the first time or returning for another year.

At Barrington Middle School, we are committed to creating an environment where every student feels safe, supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed. As an A-rated school, we take pride in our accomplishments, but we know that success is not a destination—it is a responsibility. We celebrate our achievements while continuing to chase greatness in everything we do.

Our work is grounded in high expectations, strong relationships, and a belief that every student can grow and excel. We strive to provide high-quality instruction every day, while also supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of each child. We want our students to feel known, valued, and empowered as they develop the skills and character needed for success in high school and beyond.

Barrington is a special place because of the people who make up our community. Our teachers are dedicated professionals who are passionate about student learning and committed to helping every child reach their potential. Our support staff, student nutrition team, media center specialist, and custodial team all play an important role in creating a welcoming, organized, and positive learning environment. Together, we share a common purpose: doing what is best for students.

We also recognize that strong schools are built through strong partnerships with families. We value open communication, collaboration, and family involvement as we work together to support student success. Your partnership is essential, and we welcome your engagement, questions, and ideas throughout the school year.

Thank you for being part of the Barrington community. I am excited about the year ahead and the opportunities we have to build on our success, pursue excellence, and continue making Barrington a place where students and staff thrive.
